Teresa J. Barko, 68, of Tarentum died at 7 p.m. July 4 at her home after being ill for the past two years.

Born March 10, 1940, she was the daughter of the late George W. Krause and the late Ruby Bennett Krause.

She had lived in Tarentum since 1999. Prior to that, she lived in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and the Carolinas for 18 years and in Butler for 18 years.

She was a sales associate in the china department at Macy's in Natrona Heights and the North Hills and also at Belk Department Store in the Carolinas for a number of years.

She was a 1958 graduate of Meadville High School and a graduate of Allegheny College.

A music lover, Mrs. Barko enjoyed reading, gardening, ceramics and needlepoint. She was a Catholic.

She is survived by her daughter, Natalie R. Barko, with whom she made her home; her stepdaughters, Margaret Enyeart and her husband, Robert, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Christine Barko of Youngstown; four grandsons; one granddaughter; three brothers, Frederick Krause and his wife, Donna, of Norfolk, Va., Dennis A. Krause and his wife, Betty, of Titusville, and Stephen R. Krause of Charlottesville, Va.; one sister, Karen Holtz and her husband, Greg, of Cape Cod, Mass.; and beloved nieces and nephews living in Titusville.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward John Barko, in 1996; and by a stepdaughter, Laurel Barko.

<B>BARKO</B> — Relatives and friends of Teresa J. Barko, who died July 4, 2008, are invited to attend a celebration of her life from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Royal Gatherings, Pittsburgh Mills Mall. Arrangements handled by <B>Duster Funeral Home,</B> Tenth Avenue at Corbet St., Tarentum.
