Rosaline W. Ralston

Rosaline Wilhelmina (Holly) Ralston, 97, of North East Township, Erie County, formerly of East Butler, died Monday afternoon at Brevillier Village, Erie.

Born in East Butler on Oct. 9, 1910, she was the daughter of Albert Holly and Hedwig Elsa Batoja.

Her husband, Edward Stanley Ralston, whom she married Aug. 18, 1936, died Jan. 10, 1955.

Rosaline, a graduate of Butler High School and Slippery Rock Normal School, now Slippery Rock University, was a school teacher for more than 22 years in the North East School District.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in North East.

Mrs. Ralston was a past worthy matron of the Shiloh Chapter Order of Eastern Star in North East. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, traveling and oil painting.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ronda Page and her husband, Robert, and Mrs. Shirley Bemiss and her husband, Norm, both of North East; two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Betz of Renfrew and Mrs. Alice Seigh of Delmont; nine grandchildren, Mr. Daniel J. Page of Coral Springs, Fla., Ms. Karen Page of East Norwalk, Conn., Mr. Matthew E. Page of Elizabethtown, Ky., Ms. Ann Neumann of Uniontown, Ohio, Mr. Roy W. Bemiss and Mrs. Susan Huff, both of North East, Ms. Holly J. Bemiss of Brooklyn, N.Y., Ms. Elizabeth Bashan of Oakland, Calif., and Ms. Heather Neil of Albuquerque, N.M. Rosaline also is survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Susan Neill; seven brothers; and eight sisters.

<B>RALSTON </B>— Friends of Rosaline Wilhelmina (Holly) Ralston, who died Monday, July 14, 2008, will be received from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Graveside services will follow at noon Wednesday at the Slippery Rock Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Goetz, of the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, Plain Grove Township; Lawrence County, officiating.
