Elizabeth A. Laidlaw

Elizabeth A. Laidlaw, 61, of Butler died early Friday morning at her home.

She was born March 23, 1947, in Ford City, a daughter of the late James J. and Genevieve "Pat" Glenn Pepper.

She was a graduate of Ford City High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology in 1969 from Mercyhurst College, Erie. She also was awarded an associate degree in nursing at Butler County Community College in 1997. She worked as a registered nurse at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople from 1999 until November 2007.

However, her home and family were the most important and satisfying things for her.

She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Meridian.

Surviving are three sons, Patrick Laidlaw and his wife, Jennifer, of Salt Lake City, Daniel Laidlaw and his wife, Renee, of Butler, and Ryan Laidlaw of Butler; four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Bodie, Colin and Chloe Laidlaw; her friend and former husband, Keith Laidlaw; four sisters, Pat Shevchuk of Cadogan, Pa., Eileen Iskandar of Northridge, Calif., Mary Donovan of Marblehead, Mass., and Margaret Hrabovsky of Ford City; one brother, Kevin Pepper of Ford City; and a cousin, Marilou Pepper of Punxsutawney.

She recently was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Yurga of Niles, Ohio; and two brothers, Michael and Jimmy Pepper.

<B>LAIDLAW</B> — Friends of ElizabethA. Laidlaw, who died Friday, July 18, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., ButlerThe Bereavement Group of St. Fidelis Parish will conduct a vigil service at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler.
