INDIANAPOLIS — Marilyn Hilliard, 76, of Butler earned three first-place medals at the 22nd National Veterans Golden Age Games, which ran from Aug. 20-24 in Indianapolis.

Hilliard, competing in the women's 75-79 age division, earned top honors in 1-kilometer cycling (2 minutes, 46.28 seconds), 667-meter cycling (1:29.75) and in horseshoes-ambulatory.

This year marked Hilliard's sixth trip to the National Games.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora will have season-ending surgery on his injured left knee.Umenyiora was hurt in the second quarter of Saturday's preseason game against the New York Jets, and Dr. Russell Warren told the team that an MRI found a tear in his lateral meniscus.
