LeRoy H. Fishel
LeRoy H. Fishel, 73, of Butler died Sunday following an extended illness at his home surrounded by his family.
Born July 9, 1935, in Butler, he was a son of the late Roy H. and Evelyn O'Hara Fishel.
Mr. Fishel retired from Butler Armco after 39 years. He worked in continuous casting and in open hearth maintenance until his retirement in 1994. As a young man, he also worked for Castle Rubber for two years.
He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, having served for eight years.
Leroy loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Armco Country Club and Oakview Golf Club, and he enjoyed renewing old friendships and meeting wonderful people through golf. Leroy was a member and a past secretary of the Oneida Bow Hunters and served as the group's range officer for five years.
He was former member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler.
His wife, Naomi L. Stutz Fishel, who he married Oct. 8, 1954, survives him. Also surviving are three sons and their wives, Daniel L. and Judy Fishel of Cabot, Ronald J. and Beth Fishel of Butler and Randall H. Fishel of Butler; two daughters and their husbands, Pamela and John Uthman of Cranberry Township and Beverly and William Workman of Minerva, Ohio; and his brother and sisters, James Fishel, Janice Stein, Judith Hankey, Evelyn Allison and Gloria Snyder. Twelve grandchildren, Chris and his wife Kristy, Danielle, Tim, Justin, Carrie, Carissa, Brandy and her husband Jason, Penny, David, Emily, Jocelyn and Daniel; and a great-grandson, Leonard, also survive him.
<B>FISHEL </B>-— Friends of LeRoy H. Fishel, who died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Paul Cashdollar officiating.
