Muriel J. Reed, 87, of Clarion died early Saturday morning at Golden Living in Shippenville.

Miss Reed was born April 19, 1921, in Foxburg. She was the daughter of the late William and Hannah Tonks Reed.

She was a 1939 graduate of St. Petersburg-Richland High School.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion.

She was employed for many years at Clarion University and retired in 1984.

Miss Reed is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Reed of Foxburg and Gloria R. Burns and her husband, Edward, of Shippenville; a brother, Richard Reed and his wife, Sally, of Pleasantville; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Alice Murray, Gertrude Foust, Adda Horton, Clara Gardner and Margaret Reed; and a brother, William Reed.

<B>REED</B> — Friends of Muriel J. Reed, who died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Hile Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Jacobson, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating.
