Elizabeth O. Marron
Elizabeth O. "Betty" Marron, 89, of Parker passed away Saturday at the Parker Personal Care Home following an illness.
She was born in New Castle, Dec. 13, 1918, the daughter of Emmett and Christine Denny O'Donnell.
Betty married John F. "Bud" Marron Jan. 29, 1944, in the St. James Cathedral, Seattle, Wash. He passed away Aug. 28, 1999.
She was a dedicated homemaker as well as a caring and loving mother all her adult life.
When Betty wasn't spending time with her family, she was spending time at her church. She was a devout Catholic and a devoted member of the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church Our Lady of the Snows in Parker. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and helped deliver Meals on Wheels for a number of years.
Betty enjoyed playing cards and was an active member of the Cavendish Bridge Club in addition to various bridge clubs in the area.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Shanafelt (Bob) of Sunset Beach, N.C.; four sons, James (Ann) of Foxburg, Jerry (Lynn) of Foxburg, John (Barb) of Johnstown and Leo (Susan) also of Foxburg; 10 grandchildren, Mike, Pat, Chris, Emily, Megan and Ted Marron, Lori Sherman, Leah Rapp, Kelli Greene and Robin Bianchini; four great-grandchildren, Dominick and Joseph Rapp and Allison and Amelia Sherman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
<B>MARRON</B> — Friends of Elizabeth O. "Betty" Marron, who died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Wayne Street, Parker. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church Our Lady of the Snows with the Rev. Joseph Bonafed officiating.
