Theresa Wise

Wise

Theresa Wise died Monday of natural causes in her home and the home of the Rev. Jim and Florence Reilly.

Born Oct. 6, 1909, in Butler, Theresa moved to Orlando, Fla., in 1952, where she lived until moving to Ellijay, Ga., in 2000.

She lived an exciting life of travel and meeting people. She was a good friend to all. She is honored and revered by her family.

She was a member of Good Samaritan Catholic Church in Ellijay. Her favorite scripture, and the one she lived by, was 1 Corinthians: 13, the Love Chapter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Wise; a stepdaughter, Raye Wise Tiedt; her parents, Gaspar and Catherine Skrabak; her brothers, Frank, John and Joseph Skrabak; and her sister, Johanna Stepanovich.

Surviving are her eight children: son Kenneth L. Wise and his wife, Connie, of Colbert, Wash; daughter Eleanore Elkins of Lyndora; daughter Sylvia Evans and her husband, George, of Ellijay, Ga.; son Irvin D. Wise and his wife, Glenna, of Orlando, Fla.; son Ronald L. Wise and his wife, Suzy, of Butler; daughter Carolyn Bell and her husband, Lyman; daughter Maxine Herdman and her husband, Stanley, of Ellijay; daughter Florence Reilly and her husband, Jim, of Dalton, Ga.; and a stepdaughter, Esther Pearce Kennedy and her husband, Richard, of Casselberry, Fla. She has been blessed with 36 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

<B>WISE</B> — All friends and family of Theresa Wise, who died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Oct. 11 at Spring Place United Methodist Church, 731 Highway 225, Chatsworth, Ga., with dinner following in the church fellowship hall.Arrangements are being handled by <B>Bernhardt Funeral Home</B>, Ellijay.
