IN BRIEF

PITTSBURGH — The starting running back for a playoff-bound Pittsburgh Central Catholic football team died days after suffering a stroke while watching a game between two other teams.

Kyle Wilson, a junior, had been unconscious and in critical condition at UPMC-Children's Hospital since he collapsed while attending another game Thursday.

Central Catholic coach Terry Totten says Wilson suffered a stroke not related to football and had practiced normally with the team last week.

Central Catholic, the defending WPIAL Class AAAA champion, meets Penn-Trafford in a first-round playoff game Friday in Fox Chapel.
