Angeline E. Gurner, 88, formerly of Oak Hills Manor, died peacefully Tuesday evening at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.

Born Aug. 7, 1920, in Boyers, she was a daughter of the late Vincent and Donece (Vizioli) Vitale.

She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a housekeeper in the women's dormitory at Slippery Rock University for several years.

She was member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the 55 and Alive group at St. Michael.

She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Kennedy of Butler; a son, Michael J. Gurner and his wife, Maxine, of Butler; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Ann Rublewski of Butler and her twin sister, Cora Isacco of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael A. Gurner, whom she married Oct. 5, 1942. He died Dec. 31, 1985. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert Gurner; a brother; and five sisters.

<B>Gurner</B> — Friends of Angeline E. Gurner, who died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave. The Rev. James Dolan, pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.The Bereavement Committee of St. Michael Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home for a parish vigil service.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
