Mary Phillips
Mary Phillips, 90, of Natrona Heights, formerly of Winfield Township, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday at her home after a two-year illness.
Born July 6, 1918, in Stowe Township, she was the daughter of Kathleen Kowalak.
She lived in Natrona Heights for the past 20 years and previously lived in Winfield Township.
Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and had worked at the Butler County Mushroom Mine for 27 years.
She was affiliated with the Buffalo United Presbyterian Church, Winfield Township.
She graduated from the former Stowe Township High School and enjoyed gardening, playing cards and her family.
Surviving are three sons, John S. Phillips of Tarentum, Robert M. (Patricia) Phillips of Valencia and Dean D. (Sylvia) Phillips of Fairfield, Ohio; grandchildren, John Robert Phillips of Tarentum, Julie (Nick) Taraborrelli of Lower Burrell, Kurt (Dawn) Phillips of Butler, Merily P. (Dan) Pompa of Cranberry Township, Robin L. Duster of Natrona Heights, Aaron Phillips of Texas and Jason Phillips of Cincinnati, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Phillips of Butler, Daniel J., Izik D. and Simon J. Pompa of Cranberry Township, and twins Dylan L. and Olivia N. Pompa of Cranberry Township; and a son-in-law, J. Rodney Duster of Natrona Heights.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Phillips, in 1986; and a daughter, Joyce M. (Phillips) Duster, in 2007.
<B>PHILLIPS</B> — Relatives and friends of Mary Phillips, who died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Duster Funeral Home, Inc.</B>, 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David W. Hupp, her pastor, officiating.
