Shirley A. Hertz
Shirley A. Hertz, 72, of Butler died at 3:35 p.m. Friday at the Butler Memorial Hospital. after an illness.
She was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Yatesboro, the daughter of the late Angelo A. Alberti and Anna M. (Caroll) Alberti of Concordia Home, Butler.
She was a member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church.
In early years, she had worked at the Butler High School cafeteria and also was a secretary for the state diagnostic lab.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting cookbooks and spending time with her granddaughters.
Surviving are her husband, Richard J. "Rick" Hertz, who she married June 27, 1959; three sons, Michael A. Hertz, of Butler, Anthony and his wife, Kellie, Hertz of Butler and Stephen and his wife, Sherry, Hertz of Harrisburg; two granddaughters, Brianna and Abbey Hertz; her mother, Anna M. Alberti; and a sister, Geraldine Heade of Butler.
She was preceded in death by her father, Angelo A. Alberti; and a son, Christopher Hertz, who died in 1978.

Jefferson St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church with Father Bud Falkenhan officiating.
