Compton

George M. Compton, 48, of Butler passed away at 1:38 p.m. Sunday in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 5, 1960, in Butler, the son of George William Compton and Madeline K. (Weed) Compton Robison.

He had worked at Keffalas's for 14 years.

He enjoyed fishing, collecting marbles, bottles and antiques.

Surviving are his father, George William Compton of Karns City; his mother and stepfather, Jerry and Madeline K. (Weed) Robison of Butler; his companion, Patty Smeltzer; and two sisters, Debbie Compton of Butler and Cheri McGregor of Butler.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Dustin McGregor.

Compton, who died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home Ltd.</B>, Butler, Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
