LANDOVER, Md. — Knoch graduate Carol Cress, a freshman shot putter at Sacred Heart University, placed second at the Northeast Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship recently.Cress had a shot put of 43 feet, seven inches, a personal best, to claim second place. She will next compete at the New England Intercollegiate Indoor Track and Field Championship in Boston.
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University men's and women's indoor track and field teams are ranked regionally and nationally by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.The Rock women are ranked No. 1 in the Atlantic Region and No. 7 in all of Division II. The Rock men are ranked No. 4 in the region and No. 21 nationally.Both SRU teams open defense of their 2008 PSAC Indoor Track and Field titles at the PSAC Championships Saturday at East Stroudsburg. The league meet concludes Sunday.
