Mary E. O'Donnell
Mary E. O'Donnell, 88, of Butler died Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
She was born Sept. 5, 1920, in Butler, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Ransell Hesidence.
Mary was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. She was a life member of the Tanglewood Senior Center and the East Butler Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
Her favorite hobbies were spending time with her family, her flower garden and quilting.
Mary's husband, Joseph E. O'Donnell, whom she married Oct. 25, 1941, preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1987. Two brothers and five sisters also preceded her.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jo Nebel of Butler and Rose Woodward and her husband, Jan Woodward, also of Butler; four sons and their wives, Larry and Cathie O'Donnell of Butler, Bob and Deloris O'Donnell of Chicora, Pat O'Donnell of Butler and Mike and Jackie O'Donnell of Lower Burrell; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
<B>O'Donnell </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Mary E. O'Donnell, who died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center.
