Edward Joseph "Ed" Lehnerd Sr., 81, of Cabot died Sunday at Celebrations Hospital, Orlando, Fla.

Born March 31, 1927, in Butler, he was the son of Philip H. Lehnerd Sr. and Theresa M. McGowan Lehnerd.

He worked as a pressure dispatcher for T.W. Phillips Gas Co. for 44 years.

He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, a Moose member, Lifetime Lodge 64, Family Campers and RVers (National Conservation Director) formerly NCHA, the American Legion, the Kentucky Colonels, the Full Timers and the Imperial Polkers.

He also was a scout master at St. Peter's and St. Wendelin's. He enjoyed camping, golfing, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, bowling and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Jean Robinson Lehnerd, whom he married June 19, 1954; five sons, Edward J. (Diane) Lehnerd Jr. of Cabot, Paul D. (Janet) Lehnerd of Cabot, Donald E. (Diana) Lehnerd of Butler, Carl L. Lehnerd of Butler and Andrew P. (Tracy) Lehnerd of Butler; two daughters, Linda M. (Jim) Halstead of Saxonburg and Patricia A. (Jon) Disher of Butler; his brother, Philip H. (Ann) Lehnerd Jr. of Butler; 11 grandchildren, Theresa Winell, Cody, Stephanie, Lee, Dawn and Matthew Lehnerd, Andrew, Aleta and Trenton Halstead, and Megan and Emily Disher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson, Jacob Lehnerd; four brothers; and three sisters.

<B>LEHNERD</B> — Friends of Edward Joseph "Ed" Lehnerd Sr., who died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Michael of the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Butler, with Rev. James W. Dolan officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Cemetery, Butler.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mooseheart/Moosehaven, c/o Moose of Butler Lodge, in memory of Edward Lehnerd, 225 W.
