Murphey

Shawn Michael Murphey, 24, of Butler passed away Sunday, Jan. 25.

He was born Sept. 19, 1984, in Butler the son of David Edward Voelker of Butler and Tammy Connors of Butler.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Growing up, Shawn was a talented athlete who played midget football with the East Side Mustangs and baseball for various teams in the Butler Bantam and Pony leagues. He was an avid Steeler fan and loved fishing, the outdoors and playing golf.

Shawn very much enjoyed being with his family.

Surviving are his mother and father; a sister, Sharon Voelker of Butler; a brother, Timothy Gilliland of Butler; his grandmother, Sara Voelker of Butler; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, and an aunt and uncle.
