Charles E. Cole, M.D., 78, of Wexford died Friday.

He was the son of the late Edward and Amelia Cole; beloved husband of Mary "Molly" Cole for 54 years; loving father of Dr. Daniel J. (Diane), David J. (Molly), Brian R., Mary (Paul) Simms, Edward (Norenne) and the late Charles E. Jr.; grandfather of Jennifer, David, Erin, Daniel, Ryan, Matthew, Rachel, Hannah and Katie Cole and Catherine, Caroline, Elizabeth and Charles Simms; brother of Mary Gonet (Edward), Jeanne McCormick, and Shirley Wilson (Thomas). He also is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dr. Cole received a bachelor of science degree from Duquesne University. He was a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson Medical School. He practiced family medicine in the North Hills for 40 years.

Dr. Cole was a longtime board member of Mars National Bank and the North Pittsburgh Phone Co.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the St. Alphonsus Church, Wexford.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Charles E.
