Dorothy (Clair) Fey
Dorothy (Clair) Fey, 92, of Middlesex Township died Monday while under the care of the Rebecca Residence Nursing Home, West Deer Township.
Born May 25, 1916, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Emil V. and Emma (Maibach) Clair.
Mrs. Fey graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in education and attended graduate school at Duquesne University.
She taught in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, St. Paul School in Butler and Holy Sepulcher School, Glade Mills.
A longtime member of Holy Sepulcher Church, she was the first woman elected to the Church Committee and had been a member of the first Parish Council, president of the Women's Guild and co-founder of the Smiling Seniors. A member of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Mrs. Fey served as president of the Butler County Deanery and as diocesan chairman of the Family Life Committee. In January 1999, Mrs. Fey was the recipient of the Manifesting the Kingdom Award.
She volunteered as a counselor at Butler Lifeline for eight years and was a member of Pennsylvanians for Human Life.
Additionally, Mrs. Fey was treasurer and bookkeeper of the Fey Steel Co. in Mars, owned by her late husband and currently by her son.
She was the beloved wife of the late Regis F. Fey, whom she married Aug. 13, 1940, and who died Nov. 19, 1988. She also was preceded in death by her two sisters, Edith Fogle and Gertrude Gauscheman.
She was the loving mother of Carol (Daniel) Mioduszewski of Detroit, Mich., Father William Fey, O.F.M. Cap., of Papua, New Guinea, Robert (Paula) Fey of Mars, Joseph (Carolyn) Fey of Middlesex Township and Dr. Patricia (Terry) Rings of Lake Charles, La.; and sister-in-law of Virginia Fey of Penn Hills. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
<B>FEY </B>— The family of Dorothy (Clair) Fey, who died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
