Oscar J. Schmieder, 87, of Cabot died Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born April 22, 1921, in Cabot, he was the son of Joseph W. and Louise L. Menken Schmeider.

He worked at the Allegheny Ludlum Corp. as a mobile equipment operator.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot, and a life member of the Butler County Historical Society and the Marwood Food Bank. He worked at Cooper Cabin as a tour guide for years. He was well known in the community.

Surviving are his three brothers, Charles J. (Mary) Schmeider of Sarver, David (Frances) Schmeider of Meridian and Joseph J. (Helen) Schmeider of Cabot; his sister, Annabelle Nemeth of Lyndora; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Paul A. Schmeider; and three sisters, Rita Steetle, Marie Schmeider and Geneive Edwards.

<B>Schmieder</B> — Friends of Oscar J. Schmieder, who died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Keurulainen officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Butler County Historical Society, P.O.
