Ronald John Jardin

Ronald John Jardin, 66, of Freeport Road died at 7:08 p.m. Wednesday in his home surrounded by his entire family.

Born Sept. 22, 1942, in Butler, he was the son of the late John Jardin and the late Irene Lowry Jardin.

Mr. Jardin was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He worked in the melt shop maintenance department at Armco, where he retired in 1995 after 30 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Jardin was a member of the Butler American Legion Post 117, the Loyal Order of the Moose 64 of Butler and the Butler Elks Lodge 170.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Mr. Jardin is survived by his wife, Bonnie Bauman Jardin, whom he married Jan. 24, 1964; one son, Ronald Jardin II; and three daughters, Rhonda J. Jardin, Rochelle and her husband, David Rihel, and Renae and her husband, Kurt Weaver, all of Butler; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Schaeffer of Butler, Joyce Black of Cabot and Jean Hoagland of Grove City; eight nieces; and two nephews.

<B>JARDIN</B> — Friends of Ronald John Jardin, who died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Chaplain Tom Spiker of Medi Home Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in the Gruenwald Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mark's Food Cupboard, 201 W.
