William H. Phillips
William H. "Billy" Phillips, 50, of Zelienople died peacefully Wednesday at his mother's home in Zelienople.
Born Oct. 18, 1958, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Marie (Curry) Kniess of Zelienople and the late William R. Phillips.
Bill graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1976.
He was a member of Zelienople American Legion Post 474, the Sons of the Legion and the Hungarian Club in Zelienople.
Bill had worked at Fort Pitt Meat in Evans City, Harmony Casting for 18 years and most recently, he worked at the Zelienople American Legion.
He enjoyed sports, especially the Steelers, and was an avid NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Bill enjoyed boating and traveling with his family.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Erik C. Phillips of Zelienople; two stepbrothers, Charles Kniess of Cranberry Township and Kenneth Kniess and his wife, Maureen, of Fombell; two stepsisters, Robin Davey and her husband, Bob, of Fairfax Station, Va., and Karen Kwiatek and her husband, John, of Zelienople; and two aunts, Martha Henry and her husband, Richard, of Zelienople and Barbara Curry of Zelienople. Also surviving are three cousins, David Henry, Diane Miller (Greg) and Linda Neill (Ted).
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles W. Kniess, who died Feb. 18, 2009.
