Federal authorities won't divulge why they raided three buildings Wednesday in Butler County.

According to U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan, the searches were conducted at 259 Pittsburgh Road in Penn Township, 257 Euclid Road in Clay Township and unit F31 at Forest Heights Apartments in Butler Township.

The Pittsburgh Road address is a commercial building housing multiple businesses. Buchanan's office did not specify which business was searched.

Along with agents from the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement, state police and Penn Township police participated.

Buchanan's office refused to release any further information.

ICE would only confirm the investigation is ongoing. Police referred all inquiries to federal officials.
