Paula R. Lutz, 80, of Oak Street, Butler, died at 1:16 p.m. Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born June 20, 1928, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Howard Greot; her late stepfather, August Heist; and the late Margaret Dwyer Greot Heist.

Mrs. Lutz was a secretary for the Butler County district attorney during the 1940s, a real estate investor and the secretary/treasurer of the MasterTech Alarm Co. and the Gateway China Co.

She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Lutz was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the St. Peter Women's Club.

She enjoyed counted cross-stitching, crossword puzzles, reading mystery novels and especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Lutz is survived by her husband of 61 years, Joseph A. Lutz, whom she married June 19, 1947; her son, John and his wife, Jane McCandless Lutz, of Butler; two daughters, Deborah and her husband, Richard Waggoner, of Westerville, Ohio, and Susan Lutz Johnston of Cranberry Township; six grandchildren, Erin (Waggoner) deLucia, Courtney Waggoner, Matthew Lutz, Sara Lutz, Michael Johnston and Gayle Johnston; two great-grandchildren, Sofia deLucia and Isaac Johnston; and many nieces and nephews. She also is survived by a step-sister-in-law, Arlene Heist of Canton, Ohio.

<B>LUTZ</B> — Friends of Paula R. Lutz, who died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church with Father Jack Nanz of the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Ave., Pittsburgh, PA15212.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
