Betty Mae Greaves
Betty Mae Greaves, 73, of 247 Ralston Road, Slippery Rock Township, died at 2 a.m. Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born in New Castle, March 5, 1936, she was the daughter of Samuel Miller and Evelyn Louise Hall.
Her husband, John Livingston Greaves, who she married Sept. 5, 1958, died March 12, 2001.
She had been employed by the Butler County District Magistrate Court 5301 in Slippery Rock.
Mrs. Greaves was a member of the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, where she had been a former preschool Sunday school teacher and belonged to the Kings Daughters, the Worship Committee, the Fellowship Committee and the Tuesday Prayer Group.
Surviving are a son, John C. Greaves and his wife, Sue, of Slippery Rock; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Deborah and Jim Coursen of Harrisville, Lauri M. and Maj. Wayne Siwik of Slippery Rock, Sue and Delmas Hayes Jr. of Austintown, Ohio, and Robin McClure-Johnston of Slippery Rock; eight grandchildren, Madison Taylor Hayes, Delmas Hayes III, Robert John and Eric Joseph Greaves, Amanda Louise and Amy Marie Siwik and Cursty Sue and Christen Robin McClure.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Hayes.
<B>GREAVES</B> — Friends of Betty Mae Greaves, who died Saturday, March 21, 2009, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pamela Gardner, of her church, officiating. Interment will be in the Slippery Rock Cemetery.
