Lucy M. Suchonic, 91, of Butler died Thursday at her home.

Born Oct. 3, 1917, in Unity, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Lapore) DeRita.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and worked in the kitchen for the Natili North "carry-out" restaurant in Butler, for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Clarence P. (Iona) Suchonic Jr., and Ronald (Sandy) Suchonic both of Butler; three daughters, Theresa (James) Snyder of Butler, Carol Wood of Maricopa, Ariz., and Susan (Tim) Mitchell of Butler; two sisters, Cecelia "Chili" Sloboda, and Matilda "Til" (William "Squire") McLafferty, both of Butler; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence P. "Huck" Suchonic, whom she married in April 1940, and who died April 9, 1973. Also preceding her in death was an infant daughter; three sisters, Mable Goss, Dorothy Codispot, and Maggie Colodi; and four brothers, Angelo, August, Louis, and Leo DeRita.

<B>Suchonic</B> — Friends of Lucy M. Suchonic, who died Thursday, March 26, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N.McKean St. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler. St. Paul's Guild and Christian Mothers will meet at 1:10 p.m. Monday at the church to recite the Rosary. Please
