Shirley M. Thompson Hammond
Shirley M. Thompson Hammond, 76, of New Haven Court, formerly of Petrolia, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday at her home.
She was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Petrolia, the daughter of the late Elliott Leroy Donaldson and Anna Marie Christy Donaldson.
Mrs. Hammond was a homemaker and a former member of the Boyers United Methodist Church. She attended the First Baptist Church of Butler.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Jill) Giedner of Grove City; four sons, Clyde Martsolf of Chardon, Ohio, Jack Thompson of North Washington, Kevin Thompson of Boyers and Scott Thompson of Petrolia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Merle (Jane) Hutchison of Edinboro and Mrs. Richard (Audrey) Fleeger of Butler; and a brother, Richard Donaldson of Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Thompson; second husband, Joseph Dunn; and her third husband, the Rev. Everett Hammond; a granddaughter; a sister; and three brothers.
<B>HAMMOND </B> Friends of Shirley M. Thompson Hammond, who died Friday, April 3, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME,</B> 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, the Rev. David Maitland, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Butler, officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
