Edward J. Weichey

Weichey

Edward James Weichey, 76, of Butler passed away Saturday at his home.

He was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Carbon Center, the son of the late Stanley Weichey and the late Mildred (Lisowski) Weichey.

Edward was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 272, the New Castle Scottish Rite and a life member of the Happy Hunters and the East Butler Volunteer Fire Company.

He enjoyed quad riding, camping and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

He retired as a mechanic from Continental Baking and most recently was a driver for Diehl Automotive.

Surviving are his wife, Jane (Miller) Weichey, whom he married Sept. 18, 1954; two daughters, Glenda and Robert Macurdy of Saxonburg and Joyce and Shawn McCandless; two grandsons, Brett and Marc Macurdy of Saxonburg; two granddaughters, Leanne and Brenda McCandless; a sister, Rose Callahan of Prospect; and three brothers, George Weichey of Mars, Carl Weichey of Fenelton and Chester Weichey of Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and six brothers.

<B>WEICHEY</B> Friends of Edward James Weichey, who died Saturday, April 11, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mike Winship officiating.
