Eaton

Roland E. Eaton, 80, a resident of 665 George Junior Road, Grove City, Pine Township, Mercer County, since 1964, died at 3:07 p.m. Monday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he was a patient since March 18.

Born in New Hope, Butler County, May 4, 1928, he was the son of Leon Freeman Eaton and Alma Mae Eakin Eaton.

He married Carol S. Dannels Aug. 7, 1965.

He retired in 1993 from Bashlin Industries, Grove City, where he was a machinist for 46 years. He also was the owner and operator of Eaton Auto Wrecking from 1964 to 1996.

Mr. Eaton was a Protestant. He was a member of Mercer County Antique Power Association, and he enjoyed restoring antique tractors and bulldozers.

Roland loved spending time with family, his wife, children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Carol, at home; six children, Marilyn Kafferlin and her husband, James, of Harrisburg, Rhonda McCracken and her husband, Gary, of Volant, Larry D. Eaton of Grove City, Deborah Mickley and her husband, John, of Grove City, Robert D. Eaton of Grove City and Kimberly Eaton of Grove City; and two sisters, Patricia Perrine Kennedy and her husband, Richard, of Newbern, N.C., and Delores Palmer and her husband, Harry, Mercer. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant sons; a sister, Margaret Montest; three brothers, Kenneth, Harold and Arnold Eaton; and three infant brothers.

<B>EATON </B> Visitation for Roland E. Eaton, who died Monday, April 13, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. G. Kenton Shaw of Wayside Community Church, Findley Township, Mercer County, officiating.
