Betty and William Hilliard

William and Betty Hilliard of Connoquenessing celebrated 70 years of marriage with a party April 26 at the Atrium in Prospect.

Hilliard married the former Betty Greenawalt on April 17, 1939, in Connoquenessing.

They have three children, John Hilliard of Grandy, N.C.; Robert Hilliard of Renfrew and Dawna Faull of Mount Chestnut. Their son, Larry, is deceased.

They also have 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Hilliard is retired from Armco's open hearth department. He enjoyed bowling, hunting fishing and golfing.Mrs. Hilliard, as a homemaker, enjoyed golfing, ceramics and scrapbooking. She also was a volunteer for VNA hospice.The Hilliards belong to Connoquenessing United Methodist Church.
