Block Parent Program
Saxonburg Police Chief James S. Grady on May 16, 1977, talks to Eric Wetick and Jodi Vosnick about safeguards provided by the Block Parent Program, which was to be initiated in the South Butler School District for the 1977-78 school year. The program designated willing adults to be Block Parents who would be home during the time children were traveling to and from school. It also taught children to go to the nearest block parent's home if a potentially dangerous situation occurred.
