Richard G. Ritenour

Richard Glenn Ritenour, 74, of Butler died early Tuesday morning at his residence.

He was born in North Washington on October 11, 1934, son of the late Oliver and Pauline Jack Ritenour.

In 1968, he founded the Custom Lawn Care Co. in Butler, and continued to work daily in the business with his sons. Prior to that, he had been employed as a lead lineman for West Penn Power Co. for more than 20 years.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, working as a parachute rigger.

He was a member of Masonic Victory Lodge 694 in Butler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen L. Phillips Ritenour, who died October 15, 1998; and by two sisters, Maxine and Audrey.

Surviving are two sons, Rick Ritenour and his wife, Renee, and Robb E. Ritenour and his wife, Tracey, of Butler; one daughter, Roni Sue Ritenour; 11 grandchildren, Travis, Troy, Michael, Shelby, Derek, Taylor, Austin, Rachel, Ryan, Remy and Christine; one sister, Doris Lanzano of Maryland; one nephew, Mark Warner; and two nieces, Rebecca Warner and Gale Eason; and Barbara Ritenour Merchant.

<B>RITENOUR</B> — Friends of Richard Glenn Ritenour, who died Tuesday, May 19, 2009, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral service details are being completed.The family requests that memorial donations could be made to the V.N.A. Hospice Service Inpatient Unit building fund.
