Melvin Plunkard
Melvin Plunkard, 79, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.
He was born April 21, 1930, in Butler, the son of the late Lorene Plunkard.
Melvin was a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 538 for 55 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. (Michael) Debra Betts of Allison Park, Linda Plunkard of Evans City and Mrs. Milton (Beatrice) Wideman of Lyndora; four sons, Melvin Plunkard of Mars, Timothy Byers of Yatesboro, Pa., Robert Plunkard of Mars and Ralph and Margo Plunkard of Mars; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy McElroy of Emlenton; and a sister-in-law, Doris Neal of Decatur, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his wife, Genevieve (Draper) Plunkard, who died Nov. 22, 1988.
