Susan Marie Boarts
Susan Marie Boarts, 51, of Kittanning died Saturday at her home.
She was born Feb. 7, 1958, in Franklin to Kenneth Starr and Martha Fair Tarr Reed.
Sue was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Kittanning.
She spent many years in the food service industry and also was a medical receptionist.
She was active in the Fort Armstrong Folk Festival and the Ford City Elementary PTO and was a former member of the Eat 'n Park Singers.
Sue enjoyed traveling, dining out and being a cheerleading mom, and she was a big fan of country music.
Sue is survived by her husband, William R. Boarts, who she married Nov. 21, 1991. Also surviving are one son, Christopher A. Uhl and his wife, Heather, of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Melissa Sue Uhl of Titusville, Fla.; one stepson, Robert P. Boarts and his wife, Danielle, of Cherry Point, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Jessica M. Boarts of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Laura E. DeSantis and her husband, Ryan, of Butler; two brothers, Michael Tarr and his wife, Carla, of Titusville and Ernest Tarr and his wife, Melissa, of Karns City; and three sisters, Rose Johnson, Sandy Sybert and her husband, Mike, and Kathleen McDaniel and her husband, Jeff, all of Chicora.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Taylor Uhl, Mackenzie Hunt, Isabelle Uhl, Sydney DeSantis and Ryan DeSantis Jr. She also was very close to her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond Boarts and Eleanor Boarts. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Stella Buzzard of Herman and the late Ray Buzzard.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Delbert Reed.
<B>BOARTS</B> — Friends of Susan Marie Boarts, who died Saturday, July 4, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc.</B>, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. John Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carl A. Johnson officiating.
