Red Barn Players go 'Barefoot'
FRANKLIN TWP, Beaver County — The Red Barn Players will present the comedy "Barefoot in the Park" for nine performances starting Friday.
The show, written by Neil Simon, is directed by Tom Tillia of Ellwood City.
"Barefoot in the Park" tells the story of newlyweds Corie and Paul Bratter. They have just moved into their first apartment, a fifth story walk-up that's short on space but long on charm.
Stuffed-shirt Paul is a hard-working young attorney just starting his practice. Corie is a spontaneous bride, determined to create a romantic environment in one room with no heat and a hole in the skylight.
Tensions arise when Paul is given his first big case at work, and Corie starts to feel neglected.
Mix in an eccentric upstairs neighbor and Corie's well-meaning mother, and that leaves a recipe for comedy.
The cast includes: T.J. McMeekin III of Butler; Erica Vandevort and Mary Jane Tillia, both of Ellwood City; Mike Prest and Frank Myers, both of Conway; and Don Pletz of Big Beaver.
Performances will begin at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Aug. 20 to 22 and 26 to 29 at the Red Barn Theatre on Route 228, the Ellwood-Zelienople Road.
Tickets are $10. Reservations can be made by calling 724-773-7150.
