Man faces assault charges for unleashing his pit bull
BUTLER TWP — A Butler man faces multiple charges after unleashing his pit bull on another man Monday morning during a fight.
Cody Valorie, 19, is charged with aggravated assault, attacks by a dangerous dog, simple assault and numerous summary violations after the prearranged fight at the corner of Graham Road and Morton Avenue.
Joshua Lieberum, 27, Frank Weber, 19, and a 16-year-old boy, all of Butler, each were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the 1 a.m. fight.
According to township police Lt. John Hays, Lieberum suffered multiple bites to both his legs and one to his torso. He was treated and released from Butler Memorial Hospital the same day.
The dog is under a quarantine order.
According to police, the dog will be kept under quarantine for at least 10 days while it is tested for rabies or other communicable diseases before a judge decides its fate.
