Frank E. Zedreck

Frank E. Zedreck, 87, of Snow Shoe died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Debra Sagan, in Bellefonte.

Born Feb. 24, 1922, in Claytonia, he was a son of the late Frank and Maxine (Mellish) Zedreck.

On Nov. 17, 1951, in Snow Shoe, he married the former Ethel L. McKelvey, who survives at home.

Frank was a dragline operator for several coal companies for more than 50 years and was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the Snow Shoe Presbyterian Church and was a life member and former president of the Snow Shoe Fire Company. He also was very instrumental in the operation of bingo games at the fire hall for many years. He was a member of the Clarence American Legion, Post 813 and the B.P.O. Elks, 212.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Henry Zedreck; and a sister, Frances Conn, who died this past Thursday in Butler.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Debra Z. Sagan and her husband, Ken, of Bellefonte; two sisters, Genny Swidzinski and her husband, Joseph, of Butler and Helen Shedlock, of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Kevin Andrews and his wife, Amanda, and Allyson Andrews.

<B>ZEDRECK</B> — Visitation for Frank E. Zedreck, who died Saturday, July 25, 2009, was held from noon to 2 p.m. today at the <B>Beezer-Heath Funeral Home</B>, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, where funeral services followed at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Owens officiating. Burial was in Philipsburg Cemetery, where military honors were accorded.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Zedreck's memory to Snow Shoe Presbyterian Church, c/o Gregg Watson, P.O.
