David 'Zeke' Zaludek
David T. "Zeke" Zaludek, 52, of the Chicora-Fenelton Road, Fenelton, died at 6:57 p.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer, with which he demonstrated a tremendous will to live.
David was born May 29, 1957, in Butler. He was the son of the late Charles and Nellie Schnitzki Zaludek.
He was a longtime active member of the Happy Hunters Club of Fenelton, where he participated in both the horse shoe and pool leagues. He also was an active member of the East Butler Fireman's Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the company of his beloved dog, Maggie.
He was a 1975 graduate of Butler High School and was a veteran of the Air Force.
Zeke worked at Butler County Community College in the physical plant services department, and previously he had worked at Giant Eagle at the Clearview Mall as a frozen foods manager for more than 18 years.
David is survived by his wife, Bonnie Barnhart Zaludek, who he married Sept. 6, 1986, at the St. John Reformed Church in Chicora. He also is survived by two sons, Charles T. Zaludek and Michael J. Zaludek, and a daughter, Julia Zaludek, all of Fenelton. He also is survived by a brother, Michael Zaludek and his wife, Judy, of Butler; and three sisters, Carol Willison and her husband, Dale, of Meridian, Nancy Huff and her husband, Ken, and Joan Waterbec and her husband, John, all of Highfield. A sister-in-law, Judy Zaludek, also of Highfield, survives.
He is survived by his father-in-law, Tom Barnhart of Fenelton; a brother-in-law, Jerry Barnhart and his companion, Debbie Bauer, of Fenelton; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Butch" Zaludek, who died Dec. 5, 2008, and his mother-in-law, Helen Barnhart.

"Zeke" Zaludek, who died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Hile Funeral Home</B>, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Chicora. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. John Reformed Church, Chicora, with the Rev. John H. Pistorius, church pastor, officiating.
