Wade W. Levere
Wade W. Levere, 58, of Prospect died Thursday at his home following a 9-month battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Wade was relentless in his determination to combat his cancer, never surrendering and standing his ground until the end.
Born May 21, 1951, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Dorothy Besnecker Levere of Zelienople and the late Walter Levere.
He was a 1969 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and a 1972 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in electronics technology.
He recently retired from First Energy, Bruce Mansfield Power Plant in Shippingport. While his specialty was electrical work, he also was accomplished in carpentry and mechanical work.
He had been active as a coach and manager in the Meridian Baseball program when his sons were young. He loved to fish and boat on Conneaut Lake, was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed target shooting. His other hobbies included building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, collecting and displaying trains and working on and maintaining his 1982 Olds Delta 88 and 1976 Ford truck.
Wade and his family also enjoyed annual beach vacations and watching and supporting Penn State football.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Middle Lancaster.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Trudy (Bintrim) Levere; two sons, Michael W. Levere and his wife, Kelly, of Butler and Thomas W. Levere and his fiancée, Tara Maxwell, of Prospect; a brother, Lee Levere and his wife, Pam, of Evansville, Ind.; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Bintrim and his wife, Pam, and Kenneth Bintrim and his wife, Denise, all of Harmony; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Levere.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway/Route 19, Harmony, with the Rev. Barbara Love officiating. Everyone please meet at church.
