Raymond P. Herrock
Raymond P. "Rainbow" Herrock, 72, of Center Township died Saturday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born May 23, 1937, in Lyndora, he was a son of the late George and Julia (Zavacky) Herrock.
He was a 1955 graduate of Butler High School and was a retired security guard, having worked at Butler Memorial Hospital. Prior to that, he worked for the Pullman Standard Car Co. and at Castle Rubber.
He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, loved flower gardening and taking care of his yard, which he was very proud of, and enjoyed gambling and playing slot machines at casinos.
"Rainbow" loved to socialize in the mornings at the Valley Dairy Restaurant and at the Giant Eagle at the Moraine Pointe Plaza. He had enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also was known for being an enthusiastic Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and above all, he was a loving husband and father.
Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta "Tex" (Lattimore) Herrock, whom he married Aug. 17, 1962; a son, Raymond P. (Carol) Herrock Jr. of Butler; two daughters, Christine Lynn (Leonard) Hodgkiss of Butler and Cindy Lee Herrock of Foster City, Calif.; three step-grandchildren, Megan, Jarod and Melissa Hesidence, all of Butler; a brother, John (Sara) Herrock of Butler; three sisters, Eleanor (Edward) Kisiel of Natrona Heights, Grace Herrock of Butler and Lois (Daniel) Simmer of Butler; and also Sparky, his beloved Yorkie.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Herrock.
<B>Herrock </B>—<B> </B>There will be no visitation. Private services for Raymond P. "Rainbow" Herrock, who died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, will be held for his family. Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E.
