Jane Leese Shakely

Jane Leese Shakely of Evans City, born Aug. 10, 1927, in Bellevue, Pa., died Saturday at her home.

She was the loving wife of Ronald Hoffman Shakely, a retired MSA patent counsel; daughter of the late Harry Cooper and the late Edith (McMeekin) Leese of Ben Avon; and sister of the late John S. Leese of Madison, Conn.

Jane was the loving mother and grandmother of a daughter, Anne Shakely (Richard Harrison) of Penn Township; two sons, Thomas L. Shakely of Sandy Springs, Ga., and Andrew L. Shakely (Roxanne Hulshart) of Dillsburg, Pa.; and grandchildren Ryan Shakely of Vienna, Va., and Janelle Shakely of New York City.

Jane was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.

She was a member of Westminster United Presbyterian Church of Evans City and a longtime volunteer with the Evans City Food Cupboard and Meals on Wheels. She also was a 50-year member of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America.

<B>SHAKELY</B> — A memorial service for Jane Leese Shakely, who died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 330 E. Main St., Evans City.
