Hicks

Luella Lucille "Lucy" Hicks, 89, of the Chicora Medical Center, formerly of Karns City, passed away Sunday evening at the center following a lingering illness.

She was born in Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, Aug. 7, 1920, and was a daughter of the late William Kamerer and Serge E. Bish Kamerer.

She attended the Trinity United Church of Christ in Bradys Bend and had attended the Kaylor School.

She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, the Lawrence Welk TV show, country music, especially Port Wagner's music, reading and being a homemaker, mother and grandmother.

She married John Edgar Hicks on Oct. 14, 1978, in Johnsonburg, Pa., and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2007.

Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Cousins and her husband, Virgil, of Karns City; a stepdaughter, Sally Hicks of Butler; three grandchildren, Keith Cousins and his wife, Darlene, of Karns City, Brandon Cousins and his wife, Amy, of North Washington and Kaylene D. Cousins of Karns City; and four great-grandchildren, Adam Cousins of Chicora, Lauren Cousins of Karns City, Hunter Cousins of North Washington and Harlie Cousins of North Washington. Also surviving are a brother, three sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a stepson, Thomas Hicks.

Funeral services for Luella Lucille "Lucy" Hicks, who died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, will be private with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Kittanning Pike, Chicora.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Richard D.
