KC boys score soccer win

Eric McCue scored three goals as the Karns City boys soccer team rolled to a 5-0 win over Clarion-Limestone Monday.

Evan McGarvey had a goal and two assists, and Andrew Johnston also scored for the Gremlins (6-1-1, 6-0).

Slippery Rock 9, Sharon 0 — Devan Hribal recorded three goals and an assist for the Rockets (8-1).Cody Wolinski had two goals, and Dan Jeon scored once and contributed a pair of assists.Jack Cravener and Tyler Little also managed goals in the win.

A-C Valley's Blayne McGuirk and Karns City's Tucker Preston finished in the top 16 at Monday's District 9 semifinals, held at Penn Hills Country Club in Bradford.McGuirk tied for fifth with a 78 and Preston was 12th with an 82. Host Seneca Valley defeated Butler 5-2 Monday night.The Raiders improved to 9-0-1 overall, 7-0 in section play, while the Golden Tornado fell to 2-6-1, 2-4-1.No details were available.<B>Mars 4, Knoch 0 —</B> The Planets received goals from Kristen Check, Crysta Ganter, Mani Brueckner and Alanna Haefner.Lexie Mastro and Dana Wonderley added assists in the win.

Union earned a 25-15, 25-19, 25-7 sweep of Moniteau.

<B>Butler 213, Freeport 218 — </B>Philip Schultz carded a 39 to lead the Tornado at Buffalo Golf Course.Butler (8-3) will host Knoch at Krendale Wednesday.
