Stella J. Ford

Stella J. Ford, 90, of Parker died early Friday morning at the Grove Manor Nursing Home in Grove City following an extended illness.

Born Nov. 21, 1918, in Parker, she was the daughter of Thomas and Catherine Dunlap Jackson.

She was a graduate of the former Parker High School.

Mrs. Ford worked for Union Switch and Signal and for Westinghouse in Pittsburgh. She was later employed locally by the former W.A. Moyer and Sons Level Works, Corso's Market, and F.A.D. Dress Shop, all of Parker.

Mrs. Ford was a lifelong and devoted member of the former St. Mary Catholic Church of Parker, where she served in the Alter Rosary Society, as a Sunday school teacher and kept church records for many years. At the time of her death, she had been welcomed into St. Michael parish at Emlenton.

Stella enjoyed crocheting, sewing and home remodeling with her late husband.

She is survived by a son, William J. "Bill" Ford and his wife, Cindy, of Parker; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alex and Sarah Ford of Parker; a brother-in-law, Timothy Edwards of Grove City; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. "Junice" Ford, who she married Feb. 9, 1957, and who died Jan. 7, 2002. She also was preceded by four sisters and one brother.

<B>FORD</B> — Friends of Stella J. Ford, who died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Wayne Street, Parker.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Emlenton with Msgr. Jan Olowin, pastor, officiating. Burail will follow at St. Michael Church Cemetery in Emlenton.
