Daniel R. Melore

Daniel R. Melore, 80, of Renfrew died Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

Born Oct. 5, 1928, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Domenic and Mary (Konick) Melore.

He had worked as a district sales manager for Chevrolet for more than 30 years.

He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church.

He was instrumental in starting the Penn Township Athletic Association and the Penn Valley Pool.

He enjoyed wine making and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and neighbors.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Ewing) Melore, who he married July 17, 1954; his son, Dan (Kim) Melore of Arlington, Tenn.; three daughters, Maribeth (Stan) Crouch of Saxonburg, Barbara (Jeff) Lyon of Brentwood, Tenn., and Susan Melore of Renfrew; his sister, Joann Davis of Scott Township; and seven grandchildren, Eric, Emily, Ben, Jessica, Brittany, Abby and Blair.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

<B>MELORE</B> — Friends of Daniel R. Melore of Renfrew, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Al Semler officiating. Interment will follow in Brownsdale Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Butler Unit, P.O.
