Dean R. Dambach

Dean Richard Dambach, 82, a resident of the Passavant Retirement Home in Zelienople, passed away Monday.

He was born March 31, 1927, in Harmony, to the late Harvey O. and Phyllis (Creese) Dambach. He was the ninth of 10 children in the family.

Mr. Dambach enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He worked at the Johnson Bronze company for 30 years and later at the Kirk Hutton Co. in New Castle.

He was a member of the Leesburg Presbyterian Church in Leesburg, Pa.

His real love was farming, and he raised beef and dairy cattle, pigs and chickens.

A longtime resident in the Volant, Lawrence County, area, Mr. Dambach was married to Marian C. Kuhlber, who survives in Baden. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Feb. 26, 2009. Also surviving are the Dambachs' two children, Edward C. (Diana) Dambach of Beaver Falls and Patty K. (Thomas) Bishop of Baden. His grandchildren include Gretchen L. (Steven) Fritsch, Kimberly L. (Kirk) Haberman, Timothy J. Bishop, Robyn N. Bishop and Abigail A. Bishop. Also surviving are four sisters, Bess Greenawalt, Clysta Hollinback, Lillian Weller and Loma Walczak. Completing the immediate family are great-grandchildren, Hallie and Adrienne Fritsch and Bryden Haberman; two brothers-in-law, C. Clair Martin and Benjamin Herr; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by three brothers, George, Harvey and Elmer Dambach; two sisters, Mildred Kennedy and Dorothy "Dot" Hasbach; and an infant son, Gary Dean Dambach.

<B>DAMBACH</B> — Visiting hours for Dean Richard Dambach, who died Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Gomola officiating. Interment will be at the Leesburg Presbyterian Church Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to either the Leesburg Presbyterian Church, 1831 Perry Highway, Volant, PA 16156 or to the Passavant Retirement Community, 401 S. Main St., Zelienople, PA 16063.
