Kenneth L. Logan
Kenneth LaVerne Logan, 97, died Tuesday at his home in South Ogden, Utah.
He was born Sept. 20, 1912, in Clyde, Pa., a son of the late Harvey and Mary P. Jack Logan.
Ken married Gladys M. McCafferty, who died Sept. 17, 1980. He married Arline H. Unck on Sept. 26, 1981, in Ogden, Utah.
Ken was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He received his master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1939 and retired Jan. 1, 1971, as superintendent of the Carlynton School District.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Ken enjoyed writing, traveling, skiing, camping, motorcycling and hiking. He loved sports cars and ballroom dancing and could fix anything.
In addition to his wife, Arline, he is survived by two children, Gary Logan of South Ogden and Sharon Logan-Palmer of Georgia; seven stepsons; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, the Rev. Sheldon Logan of Indiana and Clifford Logan of Butler.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and two grandchildren.
