Thomas Mason Spangler, 65, of Parker passed away at his home Saturday after a cancer illness.

He was born in Ravenna, Ohio, in Portage County, Feb. 1, 1944, a son of the late Malon M. Spangler and Mildred R. Hillard Spangler.

He graduated from Randolph High School, now Consolidated High School, in Randolph, Ohio, and was a member of the high school sports teams.

He was a retired truck driver for the Chicora Block Co.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan Koop of Norwood, Mo.; one son, Robert Spangler of Canton, Ohio; his companion, Carolyn L. Vogel of Annisville Road, Parker; six grandchildren; one brother, John Lawrence and his wife, Patricia Ann, of Atwater, Ohio; one sister, Hallie Hostetler and her husband, David, of Atwater, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Rebecca and Carol Spangler; and one grandchild.

<B>Spangler</B> — A reception for family and friends of Thomas Mason Spangler, who died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B> in Petrolia. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Scott W.
