Mary Ann Mackin, 74, of Butler passed away Monday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Lyndora, Aug. 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Yonocho Uram.

She was a retired medical secretary at the VA Butler Healthcare. She also was formerly employed as a secretary at Pullman Standard.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, and she was a former member of the Junior Women's Club.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer A. "Moe" Mackin, to whom she was married for 50 years; a son, David J. Mackin of Akron, Ohio; a daughter, Christine Lynn Mackin of West Sunbury; a brother, retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Peter Uram of Butler; and a sister, Alice Gilson of New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Uram.

<B>MACKIN</B> — Friends of Mary Ann Mackin, who died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in the St. Michael Cemetery.The Bereavement Group of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
