Clarence 'Pat' Pataski,

Clarence "Pat" C. Pataski, 80, of Renfrew passed away Monday at his home.

He was born May 27, 1929, in Bentleyville, Washington County, the son of the late Joseph Pataski and Jennie (Checonova) Pataski.

Pat was a member of the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church of Marianna, Washington County.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

He was a retired state police officer, enlisting Jan. 4, 1954, and was honorably discharged Sept. 9, 1981. He was stationed in Butler, New Castle and Kittanning. He also performed in the State Police Rodeo for several years.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Butler, the Butler County Law Enforcement Officers Association, the Brady Paul FOP Lodge 54 and the Centerville American Legion in Washington County.

He was a graduate of Centerville High School, where he was a prize fighter.

He also had worked at Bethlehem Steel Mines 58.

Surviving are a daughter, Beth Pataski-Fay and her husband, Merril, of Gilford, N.H.; a son, James M. Pataski of Renfrew; five grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Cora, Mischa, Michael and Nicholas; a brother, Richard Patin of Canton, Mich.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert C. Pataski; two sisters, Ruth Wassell and Patricia Vargo; and five brothers, James, Alex, Sam, Louis and Raymond Pataski.

<B>PATASKI</B> — Friends of Clarence "Pat" C. Pataski, who died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Visitation also will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Broad St., Marianna.
